For more than 15 years of ABC’s popular medical journey to become the finest doctor, American Medical Drama shows Grey’s Anatomy will be airing on September 2020 with there season 17, or we can say season finale.
The contract of the Ellen Pompeo was till season 16 but got extended by one year because the team doesn’t want to replace her as the leading role.
In an interview, she said that “I wish to bring some of the old cast back in this season, which is not possible because I know, they are not alive according to the story plot.” Which is a hint that this could be the season finale
This season is expected to have 24-25 episodes.
Till date, most of the lead characters that are set to return — Andrew Deluca (Giacomo Gianniotti), Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams), Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary), Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), Dr. Jo Karev (Camilla Luddington), Dr. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver), Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), and Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone)
It’s quite tough to predict season 17 as season 16 is currently airing on channels.
“The current season( i.e., season 16 ) is complicated and riddled with heartbreak, career changes, and major shifts in hospital leadership. It’s hard for me to say who anyone should root for or against. I think it’s a human, messy, complex season.” Said Showrunner Vernoff to TV Guide.
Fans are really upset as Justin Chambers left the series after 15 years without being the part of grand finale season, and now Jesse Williams may not be much around Jess because of his upcoming Broadway revival he will manage Grey’s anatomy at the same time. All they are hoping for now is for a happy ending finale.
