Marvel Giving More Power to its Female Superhero She-Hulk by announcing an upcoming Disney+ series.

Cue the confetti and fireworks for the graceful She-Hulk.

Kevin Feige took the entire superhero fandom by surprise when he announced an upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney+ at Disney’s D23 Expo in 2019.

Kevin stated that along with many notable characters She-Hulk is scheduled to make her live-action debut on Disney+

Here’s what we can expect from the much-anticipated series.

Origin of the superhero

She-Hulk is a Marvel comics character created by legendary Stan Lee. The story narrates the tale of Jennifer Susan Walters, who, following an injury, receives an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner.

Walters then acquires a milder version of the dangerous Hulk condition. As such, she transforms into a powerful, green monster while still retaining a large portion of her personality.

Powers of the She-Hulk

She-Hulk is overall a calmer version of the angry Hulk, but that doesn’t mean that her powers are any less. Even when Jen is entirely quiet, she is as durable or even stronger than the Hulk. She possesses superhuman strength, speed, durability, and endurance, and regenerative healing factors.

In the comics, She-Hulk is even portrayed stronger than the God-like characters, Thor or Hercules. Unlike her cousin, Jen accepts her other version and is also able to transform at will.

The cast for the show

There had been suggestions for the lead role with Mark Ruffalo endorsing Tessa Thompson for the position. The fans, on the other hand, are nominating Stephanie Beatriz for the role.

However, with the confirmation of Hailee Steinfeld for the character of female Hawkeye, one thing is evident. Marvel is looking for known faces for the lead roles. The studio may have plans to include the new heroes in the future movies for which they need actors who can reach masses.

Considering the comics, the production must be looking for an actor who resembles the transformed version of Jen. In the later editions of the comic books, Jen turns permanently into the She-Hulk, dropping her human form.

Release Date for the She-Hulk

So far, there have been no developments in the cast or the story of the show. Jessica Gao, an Emmy winning writer, is appointed as the head writer. There are speculations that the live-action debut of the female superhero maybe towards the end of 2022.

Over the past years, Marvel has been strengthening a base for female superheroes, and characters like She-Hulk is just what the audience needs right now.
