Lucifer is an American television series developed by Tom Kapinos. It is based on the character taken from the DC Comics comic book series The Sandman, who later became the protagonist of a spin-off comic book series. The characters are created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg. The show first premiered on Fox on January 25, 2016. The network canceled Lucifer after three seasons on May 11, 2018, due to low ratings. Netflix picked up the fourth season and released it on May 8, 2019. Lucifer’s first season received mixed reviews. Critics were much more appreciative of the second and third seasons. Lucifer tells the story of charming, charismatic, and “devilishly” handsome Lucifer Morningstar, the Devil, and Lord of Hell. He abandons his throne and retires to Los Angeles, where he opens an upscale club called Lux. He enjoys his retirement there, indulging in a few of his favorite things wine, women, and song. He becomes involved in a murder case at his club with Detective Chloe Decker and is later invited to be a consultant for LAPD. As they work together, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness and purity as he is accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, and they both end up falling in love with each other.
Season five plot
We see Lucifer go through an identity crisis in the last season. He is finding it difficult to reconcile his role as King of Hell with the good person he was becoming. Chloe now knows the violent side of Lucifer after his devil face was revealed to her in season three finale, and we see her trying to accept this throughout the last season. Lucifer returns to hell in season four finale after being hunted down by demons. Fans are expecting it to be temporary even though he said a tearful goodbye to Chloe. We can see how he fares being back in hell and how Chloe deals with Lucifer’s absence in her life. We saw Eve, Lucifer’s first girlfriend, leave at the end of season four. But fans believe her story is incomplete and expects to see more of her.
