There is no shortage of Science Fiction TV series today, but The American TV Series The Expanse stands out for many reasons. The show first premiered on SyFy and ran for three seasons. Amazon Prime picked it up for the fourth season and renewed it for its fifth season on 27th July 2019.

Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby developed the show for on-screen television. Based on a series of novels of the same name written by James S. A Corey, the show has received a lot of critical acclaims. The show has stunning visuals, strong character development, and an intriguing political narrative. It received a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation and three Saturn Awards nominations for Best Science Fiction Television Series.

The premise of the show is set in the future when humans have colonized the solar system. We follow a band of complicated characters who slowly uncover a conspiracy that threatens to destroy peace, the class harmony, and their survival as a species.

Additionally, the show also presents strong performances like Shohreh Aghdashloo as the UN Security Council member. Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham also star in the brilliant ensemble cast of the show.

As the show is based on a series of novels, the fans expect this season to be based on Nemesis Games. Social media sites reported that the cast and crew wrapped the production of Season 5 in late February 2020. However, since the show has a lot of VFX, it will take some time before it could hit the streaming service. As the world comes to a halt due to coronavirus outbreak, the show might likely release earlier than before—season 4 released in December 2019. Therefore, we expect Season 5 will release around the same time in 2020.
