The British comedy television series Feel Good released in March 2020 on Channel 4 in the UK. Soon after, Netflix released its worldwide viewing. It has an approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Variety Magazine dubbed it as “lowkey, insightful and real.” The Show has garnered a lot of praise by critics for its portrayal of complex subjects like gender fluidity, sexuality, drug use, and relationships in the backdrop of the life of a struggling stand-up comedian.

The cast of the Show

In this charmingly off-beat Show, Mae Martin stars as a fictionalized version of herself who is living in England. Mae is pursuing a relationship with Charlotte Ritchie playing George. Mae Martin has created the Show along with Joe Hampson, and therefore it is an inherently personal journey for the actor who is also a recovering addict. Friends’ Lisa Kudrow stars as Mae’s mother in the Show.

What to Expect from Season 2? Storyline, Characters and More

The six-part finale showed Mae’s rising career as a stand-up comedian but also reveals that she is going through a drug relapse. Although she has rekindled her relationship with George, she is not entirely honest with her. Season 2 will possibly deal with issues revolving that and how Mae comes to confront her drug problems.

By the end of the first season, Mae has managed to lose her Narcotics Anonymous Sponsor, and her mother expects her to come back to Canada. When asked about Season 2, Martin reported NME that, “Nothing’s confirmed, but we have loads of stories to tell. I want to see [Mae and George] go to Canada and see them try to transform that relationship into a healthy long term one-and if they can do it.” This might mean that Mae will be going back to Canada in Season and explore her relationship with George.

So far, a sequel has not been announced by Channel 4, but judging by the positive reviews, it will most probably happen soon. It has only been around two weeks since the release of the Show worldwide, and once people discover the Show on Netflix, Mae’s low-key Feel Good is bound to become popular due to its ingenuity. Due to the pandemic outbreak halting production and filming worldwide, it might take a while to know when the Show will get its second season if it is renewed by Channel 4. For now, fans are expecting it to release in March 2021 on both Netflix and Channel 4. However, fans may have to wait till late 2021 or early 2022.
