Another masterful creation of Bryan Fuller, ‘Star Trek: Discovery’, became a major hit when it hit CBS All Access in 2017. Alex Kurtzman is the co-creator of the show. The series begins roughly a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series take place. Onboard the USS discovery, the series follows a female science specialist, Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green).
Others joining the cast are Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, and Wilson Cruz. Jason Isaacs stars in the first season as Gabriel Lorca, Captain of the Discovery. Subsequently, Anson Mount takes the reins of the Discovery in Season 2 as Christopher Pike. David Ajala also stars as Cleveland ‘Book’ Booker. The first season was streamed weekly on CBS and CBS All Access. In the second season, the war has ended, and Discovery has to investigate seven signals coming from a mysterious source. They begin to follow an unknown figure known as the “Red Angel” and end up traveling 900 years into the future. Meanwhile, Captain Pike and his crew remain in their present time.
The third season will air with a 13-episode story arc. Firstly, fans will get to know where the Discovery has landed in the 32nd century. Fans will discover if the United Federation of Planets exists in this future. In the trailer, Michael is saying that “I’ve spent a year searching for that domino that tipped over and started all of this.” She is sporting a different hairstyle, suggesting that some time has passes looking for answers.
Let’s hope that she gets her answers and can get back to her time before it is too late.
