Does JJ stop the nuclear missiles? (spoilers)

Interceptor is the latest nail-biting action movie on Netflix. Starring Elsa Pataky and Luke Bracey, the film will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

Interceptor spoilers ahead

When Captain JJ Collins is forced out of her dream job at the Pentagon due to unfortunate circumstances, she ends up being reassigned to a remote missile interceptor base in the Pacific Ocean. There, JJ finds that she must put all of her military training to the test when a former intelligence officer launches a hostile takeover with the intent to enact an unthinkable plan.

Whether you need something clarified or you just want to know how the movie ends, below we’ll get into all the questions you might pertaining to the Interceptor ending.

Interceptor ending explained: Does JJ stop the nuclear missiles?

Yes, JJ does manage to launch the interceptors and destroy the missiles before they can land anywhere. Alexander pours acid on the command center desk, forcing JJ to improvise. She has to take a laptop outside the base to another power source to launch the interceptors, but she does accomplish it in time.

Interceptor ending explained: What happens to Alexander Kessel?

Once JJ thwarts his plans, a Russian submarine suddenly appears and Alexander assumes that’s his ride so he can escape. But the Russians suddenly shoot him dead and leave JJ alive. It’s never explained why. I guess because he failed his mission, or maybe he went rogue? I might have missed something.

Interceptor ending explained: What happens to JJ in the end?

While recovering in the hospital, JJ gets a visit from President Wallace. Deeply impressed with her heroic feat, the president invites JJ to come work for her as part of her National Security staff.

Interceptor ending explained: Does JJ’s dad survive?

Surprisingly, JJ’s dad does survive. It looked bleak for him on the phone but apparently after they hung up, a bunch of his friends at the retirement center came in and helped save his life. He visits with JJ in the hospital at the end of the movie.

Is there a post-credits scene in Interceptor?

Yes there is a very brief scene showing Chris Hemsworth’s character chilling in a massage chair at the store where he works. It’s only a few seconds in length and not plot relevant, but still kind of fun!

Interceptor is now streaming on Netflix.
