Will there be a sequel to the action film?

After watching the exciting action movie Interceptor starring Elsa Pataky and Luke Bracey, you might be curious if an Interceptor 2 could be in the works.

The first movie followed the badass heroine Captain JJ Collins as she managed to outsmart a dangerous former US military intelligence officer waging a hostile takeover on the nuclear missile interceptor base where JJ works.

While the ending wraps up the main storyline nicely, it does introduce a potential new plot that could make for a compelling sequel. Below, we’ll look into the possibility of Netflix making Interceptor 2.

Will there be an Interceptor 2?

As of now, there is no sequel news for the film. Netflix has not said if they intend to produce a follow-up to Interceptor. We’ll keep you posted once we learn more, if there is more news to offer. The good news is that Elsa Pataky seemed to really enjoy herself working on the film, so if there was a possibility for a sequel she would likely be open to doing it.

What could Interceptor 2 be about?

At the end of the first movie, JJ is offered a new position as a member of the president’s National Security staff. A sequel could follow her new life and maybe she would have to fend off another threat, this time a direct attack aimed at the president or Washington D.C.

If a sequel is eventually greenlit, we probably would not see it premiere on Netflix until late 2023 or 2024 at the earliest.
