Netflix is adding 20 new movies and shows this week

It’s the first full week of June and Netflix is adding a bunch of new movies and shows to its lineup. This week, it’s also about vampires and vampire hunters, Adam Sandler as a basketball scout, and the final season for a family of British gangsters.

Who’s ready for some vampires? First Kill is coming to Netflix on Friday, June 10, 2022 and it tells the story of a teen vampire and the vampire hunter she falls in love with. The series is based on a short story by V.E. Schwab and having read that, I’m so excited to watch this new show.

The eight-episode series follows Juliette, a vampire, and Calliope, a vampire hunter. They are both about to make their first kill but as it turns out, their first kills might be each other. But what happens when they fall in love? To say their parents aren’t happy would be an understatement.

Adam Sandler’s latest movie, Hustle, is also coming to Netflix this week on Wednesday, June 8. Sandler plays a “washed-up” basketball scout who thinks he finally caught a break when he discovers an amazing street ball player in Spain. He views this player as a way to get his career back on track and to get back into the NBA.

Besides Sandler, the movie stars Ben Foster, Robert Duvall, Queen Latifah, Jaleel White, Juancho Hernangomez, and Raúl Castillo.

The sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders is also headed to Netflix this week on Friday, June 10. Thomas Shelby and his gang suffer a massive loss, but as we meet up with them four years later, Tommy finds himself getting into the opium trade and aligning himself with one of his worst enemies.

And Aunt Polly, unfortunately, does not appear in this new season, due to Helen McCrory’s passing.

While there still seems to be plans for a Peaky Blinders movie to wrap up the series, this will be the last season of the show.

Check out what’s in store for season 6 in the trailer here:

This week also brings That’s My Time with David Letterman on Tuesday, June 7, and Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute on Friday, June 10.
