5 movies and shows to watch on Netflix for National Kissing Day

-

Ahead of National Kissing Day on June 22 in the US, we’ve taken the liberty of curating the perfect list of movies and shows currently streaming on Netflix, in honor of smooch day. Whether you’re watching with a partner, single and want to live vicariously, or just want to indulge in some good ol’ romance we’ve got the top recommendations for you here.

5 movies to watch on National Kissing Day 2022

  • The Kissing Booth (2018) – Would it really be National Kissing Day without kicking things off with the Kissing Booth saga? We don’t think so! Starring Joey King, Jacob Elordi, and Joel Courtney, the movies explore forbidden romance, teenage love, and friendship. Overall it’s a great easy watch, that will definitely satisfy all your smoochy needs.

The official synopsis for the movie reads:

“A pretty, teenage girl, who has never been kissed, finds her life turned totally upside down when she decides to run a kissing booth and unexpectedly ends up locking lips with her secret crush.

  • To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018) – Just like the Kissing Booth, we couldn’t imagine a National Kissing Day without watching one of our favorite teen-rom-coms. To kick things off we would recommend starting with the first movie in the franchise, but don’t be shy, you can binge all of them in a day. Easy peasy. The movie stars Lana Condor as Lara Jean and Noah Centineo as Peter Kravinsky. The official synopsis for the movie reads:

“What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them…all at once? Lara Jean Song Covey’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control when the love letters for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all– are mysteriously mailed out.”

Check out the trailer below!

  • Isn’t It Romantic (2019) – A hilarious romantic comedy starring Rebel Wilson and Chris Hemsworth. After an unlucky-in-love New York City architect is rendered unconscious by a city mugger, she wakes up to find her world turned upside down. The official synopsis for the movie reads:

“Natalie is an architect who gets knocked unconscious during an attempted mugging and finds herself in an alternate universe that has all the elements of a romantic comedy.”

Check out the trailer below.

  • A Nice Girl Like You (2020) – A bit of a raunchy one but empowering nevertheless, A Nice Girl Like You follows a timid and prudish violinist as she comes into her sexual awakening after making a  bucket list of all the things she wants to experience in the world of sex. The movie stars Pretty Little Liar’s alumn Lucy Hale in the titular role.

The official synopsis for the movie is as follows:

“After being accused of being too inhibited by her ex-boyfriend, a violinist creates a rather wild to-do list that sends her on a whirlwind journey of self-discovery.”

You can watch the trailer for the movie below!

  • alex strangelove (2018) – As well as it being National Kissing Day soon, it’s Pride Month y’all and we couldn’t leave off our favorite LGBTQ+ rom-com off the list! The movie is totally wholesome, and the chemistry between the actors is undeniable! The movie stars Daniel Doheny, Madeline Weinstein, and Antonio Marziale. The official synopsis for the movie reads:

“High school senior Alex Truelove’s plan to lose his virginity to his lovable girlfriend Claire, goes awry when he meets the equally lovable Elliot.”

The trailer for the movie is pretty hilarious, so if that doesn’t convince you to watch it, we don’t know what will! Check it out below!
