There are never enough shows and movies that tell us the stories of the Tudor monarchs. Becoming Elizabeth is the newest one to check out.
It doesn’t matter how many TV shows and movies are made, there are many British monarchs we still want to learn all about. Elizabeth I is one of them.
The only surviving child between Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth was supposed to be queen. Then her mom was executed and the marriage between her parents was annulled. She was thrown into the world of an illegitimate daughter of Henry VIII.
Thanks to her stepmother Katherine Parr (Henry VIII’s sixth and final wife), Elizabeth did end up back in the line of succession, along with her elder half-sister Mary. However, it wasn’t an easy ride to eventually become Queen Elizabeth I of England. That’s something Becoming Elizabeth will delve into.
Where to stream Becoming Elizabeth online
There is some bad news for those ready to watch the period drama on Netflix. This is not one that will come to this streaming platform.
The series is heading to another platform that has a lot of period dramas. You’ll need to turn to the home of The White Queen and The Spanish Princess. Starz is the place to turn to for Becoming Elizabeth. The first episode is available on the app right now, with the episode airing Sunday nights on the channel. There will be one episode per week to watch.
Could the series eventually head to Netflix? This isn’t something to rule out just yet. After all, we have seen Starz shows eventually head to Netflix. Outlander is the biggest Starz show for the female demographic and that is available to stream on Netflix. It might take a couple of years for Becoming Elizabeth to come to Netflix, though. It does take two years from the Outlander finales for the seasons to arrive.
Becoming Elizabeth is available to stream on Starz.
