Melissa McCarthy returns to Netflix in June 2022 in the brand new comedy series God’s Favorite Idiot, which was created by her husband and frequent collaborator Ben Falcone. The Academy Award-nominated actress last appeared in the Netflix movie The Starling.
While that particular title was a dramedy, McCarthy’s going full-on comedy in God’s Favorite Idiot. The series also stars Falcone as Clark Thompson, a tech support employee who suddenly finds himself glowing after getting struck by lightning.
Because of these strange developments, his girlfriend Amily (McCarthy) and the rest of his coworkers believe there’s something related to God going on. Oddly, his friends are right, and Clark learns that he’s a messenger for God tasked with stopping the apocalypse.
All in all, God’s Favorite Idiot sounds like the makings of a hilarious binge-watch. But when can Melissa McCarthy fans tune into the new comedy series on Netflix? Here’s what time you need to set your alarms to watch the series as soon as it’s released.
God’s Favorite Idiot release time
Like with all Netflix new releases, God’s Favorite Idiot will drop at 12 a.m. PT, which is 3 a.m. ET. The new series will premiere on Wednesday, June 15 with eight episodes, which is half of the 16 episodes ordered up front.
