God’s Favorite Idiot cast
Melissa McCarthy and real-life husband Ben Falcone executive produce and lead the cast of God’s Favorite Idiot, but there are also a lot of recognizable supporting cast members in the show, too.
Melissa McCarthy as Amily Luck
From the small screen to the big screen, Melissa McCarthy has been a fan-favorite for over two decades. She’s stolen scenes in our favorite shows and movies before breaking through as a leading talent and becoming a major movie star.
Where have you seen her before? McCarthy first broke out on Gilmore Girls as Sookie St. James for seven seasons, and she later returned to the small screen in the ABC comedy Samantha Who? and the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, which landed her an Emmy Award win. She further broke out on the big screen in her Academy Award-nominated role in the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids.
Melissa McCarthy has since launched a successful film career that includes titles like Identity Thief, Tammy, The Heat, Life of the Party, Ghostbusters, The Boss, St. Vincent, Spy, The Happytime Murders, The Kitchen, Thunder Force, The Starling, Superintelligence, and her second Academy Award-nominated performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me? She also hosted the series Little Big Shots on NBC in 2020 and co-starred in the Hulu series Nine Perfect Strangers in 2021.
What’s next? Beyond God’s Favorite Idiot, McCarthy will next be seen in Thor: Love and Thunder in a cameo role and Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation as Ursula.
Ben Falcone as Clark Thompson
Ben Falcone created, wrote, and stars in God’s Favorite Idiot, and he also directed a handful of episodes in the first half of the series. Falcone might be best known for his writing and directing, but he’s also made his fair share of appearances on screen.
Where have you seen him before? Falcone’s biggest act roles have been in the films What to Expect When You’re Expecting and Enough Said, though he’s had small roles in a number of McCarthy’s biggest hits such as Bridesmaids, The Heat, and Identity Thief.
As a director, Falcone has a number of credits to his name: Tammy, The Boss, Life of the Party, Thunder Force, and Superintelligence, all of which he also wrote (with the exception of Superintelligence).
What’s next? Apart from the next eight episodes of God’s Favorite Idiot, Falcone will next direct the film Margie Claus with McCarthy also starring, and he will also appear in Thor: Love and Thunder for a cameo role.
Leslie Bibb as Satan
If you have watched any assortment of movies and television shows in the past 20-something odd years, then you have most definitely encountered Leslie Bibb. She stars in the new Netflix comedy series as Satan, and it’s perhaps her wildest role yet.
Where have you seen her before? Bibb broke out in the The WB’s 1999 teen drama series Popular from creator Ryan Murphy and has appeared in a number of other television series like ER, Nip/Tuck, Crossing Jordan, The League, GCB, American Housewife, Jupiter’s Legacy, What If…?, and Love Life among others.
The actress’s film credits are just as extensive and impressive, with some of the biggest being Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Iron Man, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Zookeeper, The Babysitter, Tag, and The Lost Husband.
What’s next? Bibb will soon appear as a main cast member in the Apple TV+ comedy miniseries Mrs. American Pie alongside Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, and Carol Burnett, as well as the film About My Father starring Sebastian Maniscalco and Robert De Niro.

Yanic Truesdale as Chamuel
It’s a Gilmore Girls reunion! Sookie and Michel are back together again, but this time, Melissa McCarthy has pulled her old pal Yanic Truesdale into a new role on God’s Favorite Idiot.
Where have you seen him before? Obviously, Truesdale starred in Gilmore Girls as Lorelai and Sookie’s right-hand-man Michel for all seven seasons and the Netflix revival A Year in the Life. His role on The WB/CW series remains his biggest American role to date.
Usman Ally as Mohsin Raza
