The highly-anticipated biopic drama Blonde, starring actress Ana de Armas, finally has a release date! We can expect to see the Marilyn Monroe film later this year on Netflix.
Blonde is a fictional depiction of the world’s most famous sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe. The movie will take us through the life of the model, actress, and singer. From her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane, through her rise to stardom, and romantic entanglements. This star shone so bright, but unfortunately her personal life wasn’t the same. According to a Netflix press release, Blonde blurs the lines of fact and fiction to explore the widening split between her public and private selves.
The production is based on the bestselling novel by author Joyce Carol Oates, written and directed by Andrew Dominik. De Armas stars in the titular role alongside Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel and Evan Williams.
Netflix recently released a documentary film, The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes on April 27, 2022. That doc did well with the audience and was another highly-anticipated project. And now, we have another film to look forward to!
Blonde release date confirmed for September 2022
Blonde will be available to stream this fall! You can expect to see the Marilyn Monroe fictional biopic on Sept. 23, 2022.
Along with the release date announcement, the streaming giant also shared a first-look trailer. De Armas absolutely shines in the role. The makeup, as well as her mannerisms, match the American icon’s perfectly. We only got a little glimpse of the film so far, but I’m sure the actress has nailed the role and I’m so excited to see her portrayal of the ’50s and ’60s star.
