Unsurprisingly, Stranger Things season 4 part 1 has been breaking Netflix records, and now more than two weeks out, it continues to do so!
The massively popular science fiction show has officially surpassed Bridgerton as the most-watched English language series on the streaming service. The first volume of the season saw a total of 781.04 million hours viewed over 17 days, according to Deadline.
The news outlet reports Bridgerton season 2 previously held the spot at 656 million viewing hours, and its first season brought in 625 million hours to the streamer. Now each season holds second and third place, respectively.
Stranger Things season 4 breaks Netflix records
Just about a couple of weeks ago, the fourth season broke viewership numbers, becoming the most watched English-language shows on its premiere weekend. Over those few days, Netflix saw a total of 286.9 million hours viewed globally.
Stranger Things season 4 part 1 set even more records with reaching the number 1 spot in 83 countries for the first time during its premiere weekend. And similar to Max, I think we’ve all been listening to the 1985 tune “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush on a loop. Since the show was released, the song shot right back up to the number 1 spot on iTunes!
This news definitely isn’t a shocker. Honestly, it’s what I expected! Ever since the series debuted in 2016, it became a massive Netflix hit. It’s continued to garner new viewers and keep its dedicated fans eager for more. Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 is set to drop on July 1. Even though it’s only two episodes, the second part of the season is bound to set some other record. This show has made Netflix history, and it will continue to do so!
