When watching an episode of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy it’s hard not to wonder as one’s self about Tom Hopper’s height.
In the series, Hopper and his character Luther Hargreeves, aka One, tower over the rest of the show’s core cast as it’s clear he’s much taller than the rest of the cast with Luther possessing quite a commanding frame.
Not only is the character extremely tall, but his upper body is much broader and bulkier than the average human due to the experiments Sir Reginald performed on him. To bring this aspect of the character to life, Hopper wears elaborate prosthetics which help fill out his frame.
While the prosthetics are needed to help create Luther’s bulkier upper body, no camera tricks or assistance is needed in giving the character his height as Hopper happens to be incredibly tall in real life. In fact, you might be surprised by exactly how tall Hopper is.
Tom Hopper height
While it’s hard to tell at times whether certain actors are actually tall in real life or if it’s simply the magic of cinema, there is no trickery at play when it comes to Tom Hopper‘s height.
The actor behind the character of Luther Hargreeves stands at a commanding 6’ 5″, putting him well above the average height for men in the US. (For those wondering, Healthline reports the average height for a man in the US to be 5′ 9″.) At 6′ 5″, Hopper is the tallest member of the Umbrella Academy cast and he’s nearly a foot and a half taller than the shortest member of the cast, Elliot Page (5′ 1″).
