Sadly, most of Dakota’s best movies are not streaming on Netflix, but you can watch The Lost Daughter on the service and Persuasion will be released in July.

Dakota Johnson stars as a young dancer named Susie Bannion who arrives to Berlin in the 1970s to audition for a prestigious dance company. Soon dark and sinister secrets regarding the studio and its leaders are revealed.

The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019)
Shia LaBeouf, Zak Gottsagen and Dakota Johnson star in this touching and critically acclaimed movie about Zak, a man with Down syndrome with aspirations of becoming a professional wrestler. He escapes from an assisted living facility and crosses paths with a wayward fisherman (LaBeouf) who later becomes Zak’s coach and ally.
Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022)
Cha Cha Real Smooth premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival this past January and has gone on to receive significant acclaim. Johnson plays a young mother named Domino who has an autistic daughter, Lola. Domino meets a young man at a bar mitzvah party and the two strike up a unique friendship.

Our Friend (2019)
This biographical drama stars Dakota Johnson, Jason Segel and Casey Affleck in a story based on on Matthew Teague’s 2015 Esquire article “The Friend: Love Is Not a Big Enough Word.” Johson and Affleck play married couple Nicole and Matthew Teague, respectively, and the film follows their journey after they receive devastating, life-altering news. They find unexpected support from a friend, Dane (Segel), who moves into their family home to offer his assistance.

The Lost Daughter (2021)
The Lost Daughter is an Oscar-nominated Netflix Original film that released last year on the streaming service. Besides Johnson, the film also stars Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley, both of whom received Academy Award nominations for their performances in the movie.
The movie also marked Maggie Gyllenhaal’s feature directorial debut and she was nominated for an Oscar, too, for Best Adapted Screenplay. Based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Elena Ferrante, The Lost Daughter is about a college professor (Colman) who must confront her past after she forms a dangerous obsession with a young woman (Johnson) and her daughter while on vacation in Italy.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
This captivating neo-noir thriller has a stacked cast, an excellent soundtrack and beautiful production design. Set in the run-down hotel known as The El Royale perched between the border of California and Nevada, the movie chronicles the tale of seven strangers who converge there on one fateful night. Besides Dakota Johnson, the movie also stars Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm and more.

The High Note (2020)
The High Note is a sweet, funny and heartwarming movie about superstar Grace Davis (Tracee Ellis Ross) and her overworked personal assistant Maggie Sherwoode (Johnson).
