Sailor Moon is one of the biggest franchises, and it helped pave the way for many other animes. Its effect spans three decades, and a museum exhibition is being planned to honor this three-decade milestone.

The Sailor Moon Museum’s grand opening on July 1 is soon approaching. To build enthusiasm, the museum has revealed many of the Sailor Moon-themed menu items available at its café.

According to the official website of the Sailor Moon Museum, the museum is essentially a Sailor Moon exhibition in the Roppongi Museum in Tokyo, Japan.

This exhibition will be divided into three sections, or “volumes,” each dedicated to a particular aspect of the Sailor Moon story. It will include hundreds of pieces of art by series creator Naoko Takeuchi.

The museum will be open for six months, beginning on July 1 and ending on December 30, to mark the 30th anniversary of the Sailor Moon series.

Menu items and their prices

Translations of the museum website contain the names of the cafés’ numerous menu items and their Japanese yen costs. All pricing in USD is based on current exchange rates.

The “Cosmic Heart Compact Dessert Plate” is topped with a bit of raspberry mousse and a cookie shaped like Sailor Moon’s third transformation brooch. This plate costs about 1,730 yen, or about $12.

The plate “Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Museum Sliders” comes with two miniature sandwiches, one with the text “Sailor Moon Museum Cafe” and the other with the museum’s emblem. This menu item is priced at 1,850 yen, or approximately $13.50.

The plate “In The Name of the Moon, I’ll Punish You Omurice” is inspired by Usagi’s famous catchphrase and contains a crescent moon-shaped Japanese-style omelet. This item costs 1,650 yen, which is about $12, similar to the Cosmic Heart Compact dessert dish.

The “Sailor Senshi 5 Rainbow Parfait,” a parfait with five separate layers of the signature colors of the primary five Sailor Scouts, stands out on the menu. The “Chibi-Usa Pudding a la Mode” is a delectable blend of fruit and pudding served in a dish with Chibi-trademark Usa’s bow on the front.

The cafe also sells sugar cookies, which fans can order for take-out. One of these cookies has the same design as the one that came with the “Cosmic Heart” dessert dish.

The Sailor Moon 30th anniversary museum

The Sailor Moon franchise’s 30th-anniversary museum will be held in Tokyo’s Roppongi Museum from July 1 to December 30. The series became a global success in the 1990s and continues to be popular today.

With over 600 pieces, the exhibition will include the largest-ever collection of original artwork by Sailor Moon artist Naoko Takeuchi. Rare original color sketches and never-before-seen scene creations will be on show, and fans will not want to miss out on this incredible opportunity. Volume 1 will run from July 1 to September 4, Volume 2 from September 10 to November 6, and Volume 3 from November 12 to December 30.

The event will also feature an ‘immersive experience theater,’ which will display colored visuals with unique effects on a giant 4.5 by 8-meter screen. Anime items, a range of iconic products from the 1990s to the present, and clothing from the musicals will be available for viewing. Fans can also enjoy a ‘hologram manuscript exhibit,’ which will show the iconic dialogue from the Sailor Scouts.
