Stranger Things season 4 has come to an end, and the super-sized season finale brought on a lot of changes for some of our favorite characters. How could Stranger Things season 4 part 2 not completely change the game after that shocking reveal at the end of part 1?
Beyond the crazy happenings from within the Upside Down, some of the core Stranger Things couples were put to the test in the first volume of season 4. First and foremost, Nancy and Jonathan appeared to be on the outs as they entered a transitional period in their lives.
In Stranger Things season 4 part 1, Nancy and Jonathan don’t share any scenes together. Nancy remains in school in Hawkins, while Jonathan moved to California with his family. Separately, they are each unsure about their future together as college plans come into the foreground.
But are there any new developments for their relationship in the two super-sized final episodes of season 4? Here’s everything you need to know about Nancy and Jonathan in part 2, including if they reunite, break up, or stay together ahead of the fifth and final season.
Warning: Spoilers ahead from the Stranger Things season 4 finale!
Do Nancy and Jonathan reunite in Stranger Things season 4 part 2?
Going into the season 4, things were still rocky for Nancy and Jonathan, but they were too busy battling Vecna to concern themselves with their personal lives. In episode 9, Nancy and Jonathan finally reunite after spending the season apart. They pick up right where they left off.
The couple doesn’t break up and they appear to have elected to stay together for the time being. But Nancy spent quite a bit of time in close quarters with Steve in volume 2, and he told her about his dream of becoming a father — a dream she’s included in.
What’s next for Nancy and Jonathan in Stranger Things season 5?
There are still a lot of truths that have been left unsaid between Nancy and Jonathan. He hasn’t been honest with her about college and she hasn’t opened up about her worries either (or her seemingly lingering feelings for Steve, for that matter).
Now that they have reunited and gotten back together, Nancy and Jonathan will be side by side as the group once again faces off with the Upside Down’s latest invasion of Hawkins. If we were to predict their future, we would suspect a split could definitely be in the cards in season 5.
