It might not be Halloween, but Netflix is unleashing a ghost this summer. Boo, Bitch starring To All the Boys star Lana Condor premieres July 8 on Netflix, and the new teen comedy series centers on a teenage ghost. But wait… What does that mean for Boo, Bitch season 2?
Boo, Bitch follows high school senior Erika Vu, a wallflower who realizes her time to truly live might be up before she leaves for college. She and her best friend, Gia (Zoe Colletti), decide to change their stories and let loose. However, the morning after a party, Erika discovers she’s a ghost.
The comedy series might sound like it has a dark premise (because it does beneath the humor), but Boo, Bitch will have you laughing along with the quirky jokes and surreal storylines. After all, it’s a moose hit by an 18-wheel truck that takes out Erika.
Now that you’ve watched all of the twists and turns of the eight-episode series, you might be wondering if you’ll be seeing Lana Condor back on Netflix for Boo, Bitch season 2. Here’s everything we know so far about the future of the series.
Will there be a Boo, Bitch season 2?
As of the premiere of the series, Netflix has designated Boo, Bitch as a limited series, meaning it’s highly unlikely that there will be a second season. Additionally, the end of the eight episodes did not set up another season and wrapped up each of the storylines with closure.
Of course, there have been instances in the past where networks and streaming services have reversed the decision for a series to be limited series based on the critical reception and viewership success. Just look at HBO’s Big Little Lies.
However, it doesn’t appear as though Boo, Bitch season 2 will be a priority for Netflix given their limited series track record. The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window set up a potential season 2 story, but Netflix hasn’t pursued more from the hit limited series.
We’ll have to wait and see what the future might hold for the Lana Condor-starring series, whether it might be an anthology or just a one-and-done limited series. No matter what, these are eight episodes worth rewatching as if it were a movie.
