What is For Jojo about on Netflix?

-

On July 11, a new comedy film titled For Jojo arrives on Netflix and we made sure to share the official synopsis so you know what the movie’s all about. And of course, we had to take it a step further and provide all the other important details about the film.

For Jojo, otherwise known as Für Jojo, is an upcoming German original movie helmed by Barbara Ott from a screenplay written by Stefanie Ren. It was produced by German film company Oberon Film GmbH and Netflix, with Alexander Funk signed on as producer.

The cast consists of a talented bunch of actors, like Caro Cult, Nina Gummich, Steven Sowah, Louis Nitsche, Susanne Bredehöft, Mohamed Elgendy, Sidsel Hindhede, Tom Lass, Kalle Perlmutter, Ahmed Shawky Shaheen, and Anne Zander.

The comedy film had its world premiere at the 39th Munich International Film Festival on June 24. And in just a couple of days, Netflix subscribers will finally get to set their eyes on a movie about two inseparable longtime friends who begin drifting apart because one of them has fallen in love and is about to get married. Below, you’ll find everything else you need to know about For Jojo!

For Jojo synopsis

The story follows two best friends named Jojo and Paula, who have always done everything together and we’re practically inseparable. They would hit the streets of Berlin living the single life, until one day, Jojo falls in love with a guy from her hometown and decides to build a future with him far away from the city. Paula couldn’t imagine life without her best friend, so she does everything in her power to sabotage Jojo’s relationship.

Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix Media Center below:

Inseparable friends Jojo (Nina Gummich) and Paula (Caro Cult) enjoy life to the full as young single women in Berlin. That is, until Jojo falls head over heels in love with a young man from her former hometown and wants to build a life with him far away from Berlin – and from Paula, whose world falls apart without Jojo. Driven by the pain of separation and the fear of loneliness, Paula does everything she can to keep Jojo, her better half and soul mate, from what she believes is the biggest mistake of her life: marriage.

For Jojo age rating

For Jojo is rated TV-MA, meaning it may not suitable for ages 17 and under. It was given this rating due to the strong language used by the characters, sexual content, nudity, and smoking. Overall, it’s meant to be watched by mature audiences only.

It’s a fairly short movie with a runtime of only 1 hour and 30 minutes, so you should have no problem watching it in one sitting.

Sadly, Netflix did not release an official trailer with English subtitles. However, we still shared it below.

For Jojo lands on Netflix on July 11 at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. Will you be watching the comedy film?
