Rumor has it that filming has finished for Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, and fans are impatient to see an official trailer for the upcoming first season. In fact, fans are so impatient that one fan has made his own trailer to hype up the upcoming adaptation. It’s so good that at first many One Piece fans were duped into believing it was a real official trailer, but if you look closely this fan has used CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) to create this amazing trailer!

You can watch the trailer on Anime Nerd’s official YouTube channel here:

As you can see the trailer is extremely well done. Ryan Wai Kin Lam did a great job using the live-action series’ ship designs and then creating his own computer-generated ships for the trailer based on those. You can barely tell the difference between the official shots of the ships that have been recreated in real life, and Wai Kin’s CGI ships! The trailer opens with a shot of the Going Merry and you hear Luffy shout, “Yeah, let’s do it. Ahead! I’m taking that hidden treasure and nobody can stop me!”

You can see the official real-life ships that have been built for the upcoming live-action One Piece TV series on Netflix’s official YouTube channel here:

What memorable One Piece scenes are highlighted in the trailer?

Next, the trailer teases Luffy and Zoro’s first encounter when Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro has been captured and Luffy ends up having to save him. After that, we see a shot of Zoro fighting Mihawk, which looks pretty amazing. Zoro ends up fighting Mihawk around the time Luffy is trying to recruit Sanji from the Baratie (restaurant ship). There’s a shot of someone who looks a lot like Sanji kicking a giant fish, but it’s not very clear. Afterward, we get a shot of Crocodile (the main villain in the Arabasta Arc) dangling Luffy like a fish from his hook. Later, we get to see Nami, and even Buggy makes an appearance in this trailer.

I’m sure fans would enjoy seeing a live-action adaptation of the Arabasta Arc, however, all we know for sure is that they’ve filmed up to the Arlong Park Arc.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you check out Ryan Wai Kin Lam’s CG tribute to the East Blue arc. You can watch that video here:

What do we know about Netflix’s live-action One Piece premiere?

The filming for One Piece Season 1 officially ended on July 10, 2022, and now we just have to wait and see when Netflix will give us the season! Hopefully, Netflix will put all of Season 1 up so we can binge-watch it!

Eiichiro Oda’s fantasy, nautical, adventure manga One Piece has inspired the live-action TV series that is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Shueisha (who publishes the manga). The TV series is set to premiere on Netflix in 2022, and features an ensemble cast – Inaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson and Taz Skylar as members of the Straw Hat Pirates.
