Fans of the Resident Evil games probably perked up when they got to the end of the finale and saw a very familiar name crop up in the series, setting up an exciting turn for a potential Resident Evil season 2. But for those who are unfamiliar, let’s get into who that person is and what it could mean for the show’s future.
Spoilers ahead for the Resident Evil season 1 finale
Before sacrificing himself to set off the bomb that allows Bert, Billie and Jade to escape from Umbrella’s headquarters, Albert Wesker gives Jade a piece of paper with a name and address written on it.
In the car ride out of New Raccoon City after, Jade peeks at the note and we see that Albert is sending her to Ada Wong in Japan. Before he dies, Albert tells Jade that the woman on the note will help her.
Resident Evil: Who is Albert’s friend Ada Wong?
Ada Wong is an instantly recognizable name to those familiar with the franchise. She is a fan-favorite character who first appeared in Resident Evil 2. She’s a covert operative, or spy, and usually one of the central characters in whichever games she appears. She is very savvy and is trained in duplicity and manipulation.
Most of the time Ada would be considered an “anti-heroine” but her morality can skew either way (though usually more toward good than evil). In short, she’s a very complicated and intriguing character with a mysterious past.
Has Ada Wong been cast in Resident Evil yet?
Actress Li Bingbing portrayed Ada in the live-action film Resident Evil: Retribution. To my knowledge, that is the only live-action portrayal we’ve seen thus far of Ada Wong so it would be really exciting to get to see her again in the show, should it be renewed.
Since we don’t know if Resident Evil season 2 is happening yet, there is no casting news to share at this time but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as soon as we know more!
