Barbarians made its Netflix debut in 2020 and was a viewer favorite during the pandemic forced quarantine, spending multiple weeks in the streamer’s top 10 TV chart, but nearly two years on since its initial premiere, the wait for the German historical war drama continues.

Is Barbarians renewed for season 2?
While we still might be waiting for a follow-up to the hit series, fans can at least relax knowing that shortly after its initial release in October, Netflix revealed, in November 2020, it had greenlit Barbarian season 2.

Despite Netflix jumping quickly to renew the German historical drama, an exact release date has yet to be revealed for the series. Not much is known about how production is getting on for the second season, but Netflix claims that the sequel will be “coming soon”, and thanks to Netflix’s Geeked Week we finally know that we can expect the hit original to grace our screens sometime in the Fall/Winter of 2022.
