Millie Bobby Brown cried in fear the first time she saw Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna

-

The Stranger Things official YouTube account released a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower). In the video, some of the Stranger Things cast sat down to discuss their reactions to seeing Bower as the horrifying villain for the first time. But I think it’s safe to say that Millie Bobby Brown’s reaction was the most entertaining!

Stranger Things season 4 is streaming on Netflix and everyone has watched the latest season by now. Like in previous seasons, the Stranger Things gang is faced with a new big bad and it’s named Vecna. Vecna is a humanoid monster that lives in the Upside Down, terrorizing the most vulnerable citizens in Hawkins. It uses its psychokinetic abilities to prey on its victims’ past traumas and guilt until it kills them.

Vecna has got to be the most terrifying and most dangerous threat the Stranger Things kids have faced, and it’s been rumored that we haven’t seen the last of the massive monster. So honestly, it comes as no surprise that Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown broke out into tears when she saw Vecna for the first time. I mean, he’s really tall, has veiny black skin, a deep voice, long fingernails, and movable vines sticking out of his body. It doesn’t get any scarier than that!

Millie Bobby Brown cried in fear the first time she saw Vecna

In the newly released Stranger Things YouTube video of the making of Vecna, Millie Bobby Brown talks about how scared she was the first time she laid eyes on Vecna. Brown mentions that she had just returned from lunch to rehearse and then saw him. She says, “And I walked on and I saw him and he snapped his neck and looked at me.” Then, Bower talks about how he was fully immersed in his character at the time. He walked around on set, staring, grunting, and growling at people. Brown didn’t know what to think of Vecna because she thought he was going to be CGI.

In the video, Bower says that Brown burst into tears and kept saying, “That’s not Jamie!” Brown even mentions how she had cried throughout the entire rehearsal and that Bower had to give her a hug because she was struggling to do the scene. However, Bower found Brown’s fear of Vecna somewhat amusing and mentioned that he was talking to her inside his mind saying, “No, Jamie’s dead. It’s just Vecna.” Brown ends it by saying the fear was genuine and that she didn’t have to act because she was actually terrified.

What are your thoughts about Vecna’s appearance? Let us know in the comment section below! Also, continue streaming Stranger Things season 4 only on Netflix.
