Young & Hungry is leaving Netflix in August 2022 (where to watch)

Another fan-favorite series will be saying goodbye to Netflix. The Freeform comedy series Young & Hungry will be leaving Netflix this summer. The streaming service has gotten its fill of the underrated sitcom and will be looking for its next hit acquired comedy.

Young & Hungry premiered on Freeform in June 2014 and starred Emily Osment as struggling young chef Gabi Diamond. When she lands the amazing opportunity to be the personal chef for a tech millionaire, she thinks she’s messed up her big break by sleeping with him.

The series landed impressive ratings for the cable network and lasted for five seasons and over 70 episodes, but was later canceled on a cliffhanger in July 2018. A planned series finale movie was ultimately scrapped, forever leaving the cliffhanger in question.

Osment also starred in the Netflix series The Kominsky Method, Pretty Smart, and DeadEnd: Paranormal Park. While you’ll still be able to watch the talented star in those three series on Netflix, her hilarious work in the Freeform hit will soon bid Netflix adieu.

Is Young & Hungry leaving Netflix?

Unfortunately, Young & Hungry will be removed from Netflix on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022. If you’re a fan of the Freeform comedy series, the last day to watch the series will be Aug. 22. All five seasons will leave Netflix on Aug. 23.

Where can you watch Young & Hungry?

Currently, the series doesn’t have a new streaming home lined up, though fans can still purchase episodes and seasons to watch on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and more. We’ll have to wait and see where the series will become available to stream.

Since fellow hit ABC Family/Freeform comedies Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy are both available to stream on Hulu (as of July 2022), we’re hopeful that Young & Hungry will also find its way onto the platform since Disney owns half of the distribution rights.

However, since CBS also owns the distribution rights, which means that the series could potentially begin streaming on a platform such as Paramount+ or the CW Seed. We’ll have to wait and see which streamer lands the hilarious and underrated comedy.
