Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn will be making his Netflix debut with a new original series titled Copenhagen Cowboy. We gathered all the important details about the upcoming show to share with you right below!
Copenhagen Cowboy is a drama series created and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn from scripts co-written by Sara Isabella Jonsson, Johanne Algren and Mona Masri. Refn is best known for his critically acclaimed Pusher film trilogy, the action film Drive starring Ryan Gosling, and the psychological horror flick The Neon Demon.
It was produced by Lene Borglum and Christina Erritzoe for Refn’s NWR Originals. Refn is also a producer on the series. In addition, production took place in Denmark and has already wrapped. So now we’re just waiting for the series to make its way to Netflix.

Copenhagen Cowboy release updates
Netflix has not announced an official release date yet. However, the streamer did say the drama series will be released later this year. So we’re probably looking at a fall release somewhere between Sept. 23 and Dec. 21. Fingers crossed, Netflix announces a September release date. If so, the release date announcement will most likely take place sometime in August. We’ll make sure to share the official release date once it’s announced.
