It’s hard to believe that One Piece has been around for 25 years, and now the One Piece YouTube channel has a new video to celebrate the event. There’s no doubt that Eiichiro Oda is one of the greatest mangaka of all time.

With over 1,000 chapters, 1,025 episodes, 15 films including Red, 56 video games, over 100 CDs, light novels, art and guide books, a live-action series, a trading card game, and more merch than you can sink the Merry with!

Regardless of how One Piece ends, Luffy and The Straw Hats will forever be icons that will rule Shonen Jump for years to come. So, rather than spoil the video, I’d like to go over some of my favorite parts of One Piece.

Let’s go back to where we began!

The East Blue introduced us to our favorite future pirate king, but Nami’s arc and the events surrounding Arlong are number one to me. We watch Nami go from being manipulative and typical eye candy to someone who can hold her own but is still affected by her dark past.

Nami is forced to grow up early and isn’t afraid to use her charms to get what she wants. But at the end of the day, she’ll stand by Luffy and her friends!

Meeting Chopper, Vivi, Robin, and Brook made me remember why I got into One Piece. However, not all of the arcs impressed me.

I couldn’t believe Ace died, and Blackbeard escaped, but his influence on Luffy is still strong. I don’t care if it takes another 1,000 chapters, and we only get one chapter a month; it’ll be worth it.

We respect Oda for his dedication, but we don’t want him to sacrifice his health for One Piece

Although no one likes to hear their favorite series is being delayed or put on hiatus. One can’t deny that Oda has more than earned a break.

But just because he’s not working on the manga doesn’t mean he isn’t working. With the live-action and Film: Red right around the corner, Oda has a lot on his plate.

At Anime Expo 2022, Shinji Shimizu, the executive producer of the anime, told fans that Oda pulls all-nighters three or four times a week. Oda would also refuse to eat sometimes because it made him sleepy.

Hopefully, Oda can catch up on his rest and enjoy the rest of the 25 Anniversary celebrations. Thank you, Oda, for an incredible 25 years!
